VANDOR LLC / Creative Director

A few things have been happening in my life that have made it a little hard to keep up with Blogging. I found the love of my life, had a baby, bought a new home, helped buy a business and became Creative Director at Vandor LLC in Downtown Salt Lake City, Ut. At Vandor we work with some of the biggest licenses in the entertainment world. Some of our licensors are Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Hello Kitty, Dr. Suess, Saban, The Beatles, Peanuts just to name a few. Our client list has some of the biggest companies in America such as Wal-Mart, Target, and some of the GEEKIEST such as LOOTCRATE, Game Stop, Entertainment Earth, and Think Geek. Here are a few of the most recent designs and creations I have directed at Vandor.

Storyboards for The Brute Squad

Recently I was hired to do storyboards for a local film company named The Brute Squad.
It was a 30 second commercial for Mountain America Credit Union. I enjoyed the project and loved working with the crew at The Brute Squad.

The storyboards are below.

Utah Arts Festival Masquerade Ball 2015

I have been invited by the Utah Arts Festival to help participate in their Masquerade Charity again this year. (I have previous posts in January of the past two years if you want to see older entries)

I love creating these masks for the Festival, it is a charitable event and all proceeds go to help the festival survive. The have a gallery opening on Friday the 16th at the Utah Arts Festival HQ in downtown Salt Lake City if you happen to be in town.

I collaborated with my girlfriend Jolene Smith for the idea on the masks.

The two masks form one heart when placed together, but separated they are broken. The female (left side) is passion and life and love and is naive to the loss that is about to happen. The male side is sad and lonely even in the relationship he is done and wishes to move on and he weeps because of his silence, but he loves her so much.

Boba Fett Mural

For the last 3 years I have been hired to go paint a Star Wars character on the walls of condominiums in St. George, Utah. This year was Boba Fett. It is always an adventure to run down to St.George and do this, it is a 5 hour drive there, a scramble to get everything taped, drawn and sketched out, and entire day to lay out base colors and texture, and then another day to do the black and clean up and a 5 hour drive back, and it all has to happen in one weekend. It is really fun to see the finished result and to be honest I could draw Star Wars characters ALL DAY!
