Dracoman

I was commissioned to help design a new character called "Dracoman"

I started with rough thumbnail sketches of the character in different poses

Once I found a position I liked I rough out a sketch on 11" x 17" Bristol Board

The final image was inked with Micron Pens and I added the name for fun.

Destiny Commission

I was commission to draw a 11" x 17" illustration for a woman that wanted to show her game avatar meeting her boyfriends avatar at the final level of the video game Destiny.

The bottom picture shows the reference materials she gave me to use and draw from. I did the piece on 11" x 17" comic book bristol board. It is graphite, ink, and Prismacolor pens.

Royal Bliss Band Tour Poster

I recently posted that I have been working with a rock and roll band named Royal Bliss to design their "The Avengers of Rock" tour. It has been an awesome experience and I am enjoying working with the guys. Here is the blue line sketch, the pencils, then the inks and digital colors for the poster.
Pencils and Inks were done by myself and the Digital Colors were completed by Phillip Sevy (Top Cow Comics artist).

Boba Fett Mural

For the last 3 years I have been hired to go paint a Star Wars character on the walls of condominiums in St. George, Utah. This year was Boba Fett. It is always an adventure to run down to St.George and do this, it is a 5 hour drive there, a scramble to get everything taped, drawn and sketched out, and entire day to lay out base colors and texture, and then another day to do the black and clean up and a 5 hour drive back, and it all has to happen in one weekend. It is really fun to see the finished result and to be honest I could draw Star Wars characters ALL DAY!

The Last Event / Pencil Roughs

I have been hired to do 6 pages of a book called The Last Event from a small publishing house in New York and I couldn't be more excited. I have almost finished the pencil roughs for the 6 pages and can't wait to start the inks on the project! I have included the roughs and character sketches for the project.

BEAU First Official Comic Book

The first official comic book  came out from BEAU this week.

I am so very excited about this... This is the first comic book I ever produced and it turned out brilliantly!

I built the comic under a new title of DEAN Comics and I am Editor in chief (of course). I have never put together a comic book and was so excited to get it completed!

The art comes from the "12 x12 A Comic Book Competition" that we put on last year in coop fashion with the Salt Lake Comic Con. It has great art from the public and from the students at BEAU.

If you would like to purchase one please let me know, they are only a dollar and all proceeds go to an event to help the students.

I'm an editor!

Masks for the Utah Arts Festival Masquerade Ball

Last year I was asked to design 2 masks for the Utah Arts Festival Masquerade Ball which is a fund raiser for the UAF. It was very fun and if you scroll back 1 year from this post you will see the masks I did last year. I was asked again by the UAF to create 2 more masks for this years masquerade.
I have dedicated my art to moving in the genre of Comic Book Art so everything I do has to have a Comic Book feel, style, or aesthetic to it.
These masks are plastic masks I bought at Michael's and deco-paged old 1990's comic books to them. I glossed the surfaces in contrasting gloss and matte vanishes to bring out the color and texture of the masks. I added handles to the bottoms so people could hold them in front of their faces.

It was a hard process to get these done since it was a medium I had never used before and I had good time challenging myself to complete them.

One is DC comic books and the other is Marvel comic books.
